Aspettando i Grammy Awards 2021

È iniziato il conto alla rovescia dei Grammy 2021, ovvero il riconoscimento più importante e ambito dell’industria musicale per questo, infatti, considerati gli “Oscar della musica”. La cerimonia prenderà il via il 14 marzo alle 2.00 di notte ora italiana (a Los Angeles causa fuso orario sarà già il 15 marzo, 1.00 AM CET), e questa 63ª edizione ha dovuto affrontare una serie di cambiamenti e adattamenti a causa della pandemia in corso. Un format quindi diverso quello del 2021, niente red carpet e niente pubblico; ma anche la location è cambiata difatti quest’anno non la scelta ricade sul Los Angeles Convention Center e non più allo Staples Center.

A condurre sarà il comico Trevor Noah, noto per essere il presentatore de The Daily Show – un programma che si occupa di satira soprattutto politica – mentre a dare il via alla serata musicale sarà la performance del cantante e attore inglese (con tre candidature ai Grammy 2021) Harry Styles. Le varie esibizioni e introduzioni sono un misto tra il “live” e il pre-registrato, durante la serata sono previsti in scena diversi artist tra cui Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Black Pumas, BTS, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Mickey Guyton, Haim, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, LilBaby, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Megan Thee Stallion, Maren Morris, Post Malone e Roddy Ricch.

Questa edizione vede tante nomination femminile, che sono anche quelle che si contendono i premi per le categorie principali ovvero disco, brano e album dell’anno. Le maggiori nominate sono Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, ma anche e soprattutto Beyoncé con ben 79 candidature (record di nomination mai raggiunte ai Grammy da una singola persona).
Non mancano ovviamente le polemiche e le critiche, sono diversi gli artisti che hanno avuto parole poco carine da dire sui Grammy e l’establishment: tra questi l’artista The Weeknd il quale ha dichiarato che «boicotterà tutte le future edizioni dopo che il suo ultimo album “After Hours” e l’hit Blinding Lights sono stati completamente snobbati» e Zain Javadd Malik (ex membro della band One Direction, di cui faceva parte lo stesso Harry Styles) il quale ha twittato «Fa****lo ai Grammy e a tutti quelli associati. Senza stringere mani e mandare regali, non c’è considerazione di avere le nomination. L’anno prossimo vi manderò un cesto di dolci».
